[...] I’d call him a social media expert. Just take a look at what he writes on his own blog, [muhammad.saleem] or at Pronet Advertising. Or check out his numerous guest posts on sites like The Blog Herald, Copyblogger, Search Engine Land. And don’t forget to search for the huge number of interviews he’s given around social media. He’s even a top Digger and one of Propeller’s “professional social bookmarkers.“ [...]

I want to think you for adding some insight to a topic that seems valuable and yet there is a lot of misinformation or just plain lack of comprehension understanding of basic concepts and taking information out of context.

I gleaned at least two valuable points out of your discussion in addition to a list of social bookmarking sites.

1) the type of person who goes to digg for example - is not active blogger and spends his time on the social bookmarking sites.
Woody Allen's comment was " those that can do teach. And those that cannot teach - teach gym"
It would appear that those who can not organize their thoughts in a coherent enough fashion to share with others to write and maintain a blog - search through digg for other's people's comments to add to
The type of person who maintains a blog is seldom the type of person who endlessly goes to social bookmarking sites

2) the link if obtained for seo reason is short lived .
This is contra what one would get if they actually commented on the blog itself or wrote an article.

[...] islamcrunch interview – muhammad saleem – pro blogging with humility and wisdom Filed under: interviews — muhammad saleem @ 2:39 pm Professional Social Bookmarker. How is that for a job title? Pretty nifty, eh? How about Professional Blogger? These are just a couple of titles that Muhammad Saleem can claim. Already he has earned the following title: Social Media Celebrity and has been placed in the elite crowd. However, Muhammad is not an elitist nor does he expect to be treated as a celebrity. He is a journalist with a story to tell and it was such a pleasure communicating with him. Muhammad offered some gentle advice before the interview began and maintained a “we’ve-known-each-other-for-20-years” disposition with me. [...]
