Gawk! It’s over!

For someone who’s been following Nick Denton’s snarkier blog network, as opposed to the more seriousness (in comparison, mind you) former Jason Calacanis empire, Weblogs Inc., this is certainly an interesting piece by The New York Times. It’s all about gossip blog Gawker not being able to keep its writers, getting bashed by the readers, and not sporting its former impressive traffic. Actually, the numbers are still pretty impressive, and while the article doesn’t really commit to its “Gawker is dying” cause, it’s still a good read.

As is another piece by the NYT, sporting an IM discussion about what’s Gawker content with Richard Morgan, hired by Denton, but quitting after just one day at work. Not all is right at the Denton House, but on the other hand I guess that’s how it should be, right?
