New blog search engine to focus on European blogs
I should know all about this… TechCrunch’s got a post up on an upcoming new blog search engine by Swedish company Primelabs. The search engine will focus on European blogs (to begin with), and is meant to be completely free of splogs, at the expense of less indexed blogs of course. Twingly, as it’s called, doesn’t show anything search engine-like at this time, but TechCrunch’s got a screenshot and it’s reposted in the Primelabs English blog, so it’ll happen. In Sweden, Twingly is used by mostly print media for keeping track of inlinks.

“completely free of splogs”? It seems to be true, but the first page of search results I got when I tried it was _all_ splog. Then I clicked the “spam free blogs” filter and they vanished. The splog is there, and I guess unavoidable, but the filter seems to work.
Oh, and I’m hoping they don’t just block-ban all .info domain blogs by default. There are a few of us on .info domains who are not spammers.
